FLASHLIGHTS
Having a good flashlight is crucial to your whole camping experience. This portable spotlight often generated by batteries emits light from a small incandescent light bulb, or from one or more light-emitting diodes (LED’s). There are many benefits that come with owning a good flashlight. Typical flashlight designs usually consist of the light source located in a housing containing a parbolic reflector. This is a specially-shaped lens to shape the flashlight beam. While many flashlights are intended to be handheld, there are also head-mounted flashlights designed for miners and campers called headlamps. Interestingly enough, the name flashlight is used mainly in the United States and Canada. In other English-speaking countries, the more common term is torch or electric torch.
Anymore, flashlights are precision machined high-strength aluminum alloy, and many have improved corrosion resistance so they don’t get water damaged. The Maglite (in particular) has this high-grade rubber seal in every flashlight so the only thing that gets wet is the outside of the flashlight!
